Montaione is the perfect location for convenient day trips to all the sights of northern and central Tuscany: San Gimignano is only 20 minutes away, Volterra about half an hour. To Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca you need about 1 hour by car.
Not much farther away are the numerous attractive coastal resorts and beaches between Forte dei Marmi and Piombino.
